Shuffleboard afternoon

at the Sussex County Cricket Club on 26th February 2026 

32 members attended our now regular tournament that commenced shortly after 2pm. Nine teams of three, and one team of four, took part in what can only be described as a hard fought, but basically friendly competition with some members achieving some good scores. 

At the half way stage there was a break, when we all enjoyed a superb tea laid on by the Cricket Club that was excellent. At 4pm the resumption of the tournament took place as the members were eager to get back to playing once again. The eventual winners were the team “Dave's Delights”  comprising of our Chairman Dave Stedman, his wife Jill and Secretary Cyn Fleetwood. Congratulations to them! 

Their prize: A bottle of Prosecco as shown the photo below. There were also prizes awarded to the team in second place the modestly named  'Shoreham Allstars' (Colin & Chris Mockford and Phil Cheesman) and the team in 'last place', named 'The Beverley Sisters' (Rosemary Singyard, Rosemary Hall and Faye Matthews) who didn't have much luck, but were pleased to receive their packets of Speckled Eggs!!!

Our thanks go to Adrian and Colin who administered the tournament from the English Shuffleboard Company and also to the staff at the Cricket Club who looked after us during the afternoon.
