Here is a photo of the Brighton District football team who beat Reading District 3 - 1 in the Final of the Lount Cup in 1965/66.
The Lount Cup was played for by teams in the South and we won it again in the following two seasons and
went on to two Finals of the J L Northcott Cup, the national competition.
We lost both games 4 - 2 to Norwich, and 4 - 4 to Manchester that game being decided on corners won in extra time,
something I heard suggested on Radio 5 recently as an alternative to the penalty shootout !
